Karl Lagerfeld’s latest collection for Chanel debuted in the enchanted gardens of Versailles today. The inspiration was said to be Rock n’ Roll, and the result was a carefree collection of frills and pastels, sharpened with studs and blocks of black. From girly florals and delicate lace; to accented chokers and thick soled creepers, there was almost a feeling of confusion stemming from this display of youthful frivolity. A slightly awkward take on Marie Antoinette perhaps, or even a creative way of voicing his views on the recent political climate in France. Either way, there are pieces in this collection which have shot straight to the top of my wishlist.
